Lord Byron
Robert Herrick
My Captain!

Charles Bukowski on Ernest Hemingway:
"And then along came Hemingway. What a thrill! He knew how to lay down a line. It was a joy. Words weren't dull, words were things that could make your mind hum. If you read them and let yourself feel the magic, you could live without pain, with hope, no matter what happened to you."
Charles Bukowski
A love declaration of the cynical stoic Bukowski to the romantic and hopeful Hemingway - the cynic and the romantic are two sides of the same coin.
Hemingway said: "Write Drunk, Edit Sober". Bukowski never got this memo ...

“Cecil Graham: What is a cynic?
Lord Darlington: A man who knows the price of everything, and the value of nothing.
Cecil Graham: And a sentimentalist, my dear Darlington, is a man who sees an absurd value in everything and doesn’t know the market price of any single thing.”
