1929年5月5日，毕加索创作了这幅《红色座椅上的酮体》。大家能否从中感受到隐隐的暴力和不安呢？
画中的主角是毕加索的妻子奥尔加（Olga）。从1928年8月到1929年，奥尔加时常由于出血而就医治疗。而与此同时，毕加索与玛丽-特蕾莎·华特（Marie-Thérèse Walter）的婚外情正是热烈的时候。这幅奥尔加的肖像正是某种无名暴力的体现：毕加索在其中重拾了“座椅上的女人”的主题，同时又分解了她的身体。她的腹部被毕加索用黑色圆圈勾勒放在画面中央，十分醒目。女人张开满是锋利牙齿的嘴，仿佛座椅的红都是她所呕出的鲜血。
