As a strategy for survival, plants release allelochemicals into the surrounding environment thereby inhibiting the growth of neighboring plants that share the same habitat. A Japanese study shows, using in vitro bioassay method of allelopathy, the protoplast coculture method with digital image analysis (DIA-PP method), strong inhibitory activities of protoplasts of leaves and leaf-origin suspension cultured cells of Spiraea thunbergii, and putative allelochemicals, cis- and trans-cinnamic acid, are found.

一氧化碳是无色、无臭的气体。主要来源于含碳燃料、卷烟的不完全燃烧,其次是炼焦、炼钢、炼铁等工业生产过程所产生的。人体吸入一氧化碳易与血红蛋白相结合生成碳氧血红蛋白,而降低血流载氧能力,导致意识力减弱,中枢神经功能减弱,心脏和肺呼吸功能减弱;受害人感到头昏、头痛、恶心、乏力,甚至昏迷死亡。我国空气环境质量标准规定居住区一氧化碳日平均浓度低于4.00毫克/立方米。
