During WWII unit performed following combat work: filled 170 000 incendiary aviation ampoules AZH-2 and 230 aircraft instruments by incendiary and smoke-forming substances, established 36 smoke screens during enemy aviation attacks on crossings across river Dnieper. For disguise crossings across river Dnieper 9 separate company received excellent feedback from head quarter of 2nd Ukrainian front.
Unit actively participated in Kharkiv, Korsun–Cherkassy, Jassy–Kishinev and Budapest operation, equipped around 850 planes by incendiary substances. On combat work and combat readiness Sorochenko’s unit took 2nd place above special purposes forces of Air Forces of Red Army. All orders from head quarter of 5 Air Army Sorochenko performed with initiative and excellent results. 44% Of staff of 9 Separate Company for excellent indicators in combat work awarded by orders and medals, from them: 22% awarded by commanders of flight regiments.
