Chamaecrista rotundifolia中美洲
#植物##国外植物##冷知识##中美洲#
Chamaecrista rotundifolia, round-leaf(圆叶的)cassia, also known as pasto rastiero, roundleaf sensitive pea, and Wynn cassia, is a short-lived(短命的) perennial(多年生的) or self-generating(自播的)annual(一年生的) plant in the subfamily Caesalpinioideae(云实亚科) of the family Fabaceae(豆科). It originated(起源) in North America, Mesoamerica(中美洲), the Caribbean(加勒比), and Tropical South America but is grown in other parts of the world today.
It grows in dry soils and areas of low rainfall(降水), as well as in low-fertility(低肥力的) and acidic(酸性的/浓烈的) soils with high levels of solubilized(溶解) aluminum(铝). It can also reduce erosion(侵蚀) and runoff(地表径流) over time. These factors make it a potential asset(资产/优势) to farmers in the African Subtropics and elsewhere where soil quality is a barrier to farming. It serves as a source of feed for livestock(牲畜)and acts as a green fertilizer(肥料), raising soil quality and nutrient content which can improve yields(生产). These combined benefits make round-leaf cassia a potential solution to many problems faced by poor farmers and their communities(团体/社区).
