随着F-150完成了又一次改款,消费者开始期待纯电版本的迭代优化。然而,福特却和RTR合作搞了一台猛禽化的F-150 Lightning Switchgear概念车,有着更高的离地间隙、更大的37英寸泥地胎和18英寸防脱圈,将成为赛车手小沃恩·吉丁的战车。
在一副碳纤维材质的超级宽体的身形下,福特为其四轮安装了FOX3.0内部旁路减震器,前部采用定制的双叉臂悬架,后部则是带有独立稳定杆的多连杆悬架,这使得轮距被拉宽到2032mm之巨,前后离地间隙分别为343mm和280mm。底盘安装有钢制护板和定制的岩石导轨,重新设计的前后杠有助于增大接近角和离去角,整备质量也多了68kg。
值得一提的是,福特表示该车还可无缝切换到公路版配置,在保持悬架部件不变的情况下,换装20英寸轮圈和街道胎,可以加装一套大尺寸的碳复合材料面板以覆盖车头、门槛梁河后货箱,还能将前后悬离地间隙降到178mm和127mm。虽然两种形式有所不同,但三电都是一样的131kWh电池和580马力双电机。
来到内饰,在主体结构不变的情况下,主驾一侧增加了一根“擎天柱”手刹,可以让车手视机锁死后轮做出漂亮的甩尾动作。副驾仪表板还有一块彩色的面板,展示车名和参与企业。有意思的是座椅部分,全车五张座椅都是Recaro提供的薄款桶椅并带有五点式安全带,后排不仅有三张独立座椅,前后排之间还有横梁阻挡。
