As an evil PhD student who has 40 hours to do research every day, I have always been poly-supervised. I work in several groups simultaneously, but all professors think I devote myself more than any other students who just work in one particular group. Those supervisors are all closed friends, because I promised to mention all their names when I win all my Nobel Prizes.
