The story of Coca-Cola(1)
Every second of every second, people everywhere-13,000 of them- pop open a Coca Cola product. The soft drink has become the world’s most valuable brand-and the most recognized product on the planet. Relying on clever advertising, cathy slogans, and a connection with people around the world. It’s products include soft drinks, juices, teas, sport drinks, and bottled water, started more than a century ago. It’s Coca-Cola.
When John Pemberton, a pharmacist from Atlanta, began to mix together the ingredients that later become Coca-Cola, his intention was not to create a soft drink at all but a tonic for headaches. In 1886, he mixed fruit syrup, extracts of cola nut and the coca leaf, and other ingredients in a three legged brass pot, stirring and heating them until they formed a sticky brown syrup. After sampling his tonic, he take it to the largest drugstore, the manager who also agreed to mix water and sell it at his Soda fountain for five cents a glass. Someone added carbonated water to the drink in place of plain water, the customers who tried the new bubbly drink liked it even better. Soon, Coca-Coca was being sold as a carbonated beverage in soda fountains in Atlanta.
The new drink needed a name, Pemberton’s business partner, Frank Robinson, suggested”Coca-Cola”,because he thought the two Cs would look good in advertisements, proclaiming that Coca-Cola was “Delicious! Refreshing! Exhilarating! Invigorating!”
On Dec 7, 1941, the Japanese bomed the U.S naval base at Pearl Harbor, drawing America into World War ||,company delivered Coke to the soldiers, for the soldiers who received the bottled Coca-Cola, the drink wasn’t only a way to quench their thirst, it was a reminder of home, they clutch their Coke to their chest, run to their tent and just look at it, no one has drunk theirs yet, for after you drink it, it’s gone. It’s a treasure taste of home for U.S. soldiers on the battle lines.

从害怕到坦然,从焦虑到平静,从茫然到坚定。也许我们都有过这样的心路历程,在努力的过程中逐渐认识了生活,在努力的过程中终于了解了自己,这就是努力的价值。西方人注重过程,懂得欣赏沿途风景;东方人看重结果,只是低头前行,生活乏味无趣。我们总要让生活有趣味,总要做个有趣味的人,而生活本就是一段段过程,忽略过程便忽略了生活本身。
